SICK! Festival 2019

Weaving together artistic interpretation with internationally-significant research and lived experiences, SICK! Festival explores the complexities of physical and mental health, in 2019 asking, ‘What is the value of a human life?’

The project

2019’s SICK! Festival entailed complex multi-venue technical assistance across three weeks. Reaching a total audience of 898,000, each event had unique requirements including live speakers, theatre productions, live music and unique venue constraints.

The brief

The festival team required technical support from the early planning stages through to delivery, working with artists’ requirements to plan event structures and technical delivery to a budget. The multi-venue nature of the Festival required accurate logistics planning of staff and equipment to maximise the resources for each event.

The solution

We worked with local freelancers and venues to identify the technical needs for each event and deliver them on time and on budget, whilst liaising with artists from 9 countries to help them prepare their events. During the Festival’s three-week duration, we supported venues and artists with project planning to ensure staff and equipment were easily accessible to artists . This allowed them to create and deliver their best work to audiences, without having to worry about the practicalities.
