How Not To Drown

Multi-award-winning Yorkshire based theatre company Thunder Road produces innovative horror-inspired shows relevant to big societal questions, supported by Arts Council England and Harrogate Theatre.

The project

Thunder Road Theatre Company’s biggest project to date, The Body Snatcher, was an unnerving audience experience inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson’s hair-raising horror: live action, music and storytelling combined in a tale of mystery, morality, and science unhinged.

The brief

The team sought a flexible production management approach to tour nationwide on a tight schedule. Starting in Harrogate, the production required efficient technical management, flexible, imaginative programming, and operational support whilst touring to 15 venues across the UK.

The solution

With a focus on lighting design, we provided a creative lighting solution combined with effective project management to allow flexibility across 15 very different venues. The company’s powerful storytelling was matched with slick technical programming to enhance the audience’s experience, and tightly-planned movement in and out of venues to make best use of the production budget.
