Talking About Our Generation Festival
Delivery of twin festivals celebrating global sanctuary and migration: a fully online offer, followed by a complex hybrid event in quirky Sheffield venues.
The project
Creating a fun, varied and exciting events programme, Talking About My Generation Festival transported audiences back to the sounds, sights and memories of the 1960s, bringing individuals, groups and communities across Sheffield together for a creative cultural immersion.
The brief
This free digital festival curated a range of live music, workshops, and cookalongs led by an over-50s steering group for an intergenerational audience. Ease of access, immersive experiences in a digital environment, and family-friendly interaction were priorities for the team.
The solution
We created a multicamera TV studio to broadcast a gig live in a multifunctional events space. Working on-site, we constructed a multicamera studio to run a live cookalong in a home environment. The sound of the 1960s, as chosen by the steering group, was created using Mixcloud to run clubnights to be enjoyed by all at home.
